Christmas and some updates

Christmas 2019 flew by! This year was very fun- Henry was very into Santa this year and understood the idea that he was coming to our house. He was so cute about picking the perfect cookie and leaving the carrots for the reindeer. Apparently the getting up early starts even at 3 years old! He was rip roaring ready to go at 6 am!

Christmas jammies are my favorite! Burt's Bees had the cutest ones at Target this year and I love that they match without actually matching. Plus, they are pretty gender neutral so the girls can eventually wear them as well! I also bought one more stocking to make our Pottery Barn Kids collection complete with 5(!). Mom and Dad no longer will have a stocking. Ha!

Anything Toy Story is a hit with these two!

Aunt Kara and Uncle Ives sent some fake snowballs and I'm pretty sure it was the hit gift on Christmas eve! The whole family had a huge snowball fight.

Santa brought the boys a play kitchen! They have one at my moms but I figured having one at our house doesn't hurt either. Plus again...it will be used over and over by the next three as well!

Henry was gifted a doctor's kit from his Aunt Danielle and Uncle Blake and he has played with it everyday. He's very into make believe right now.

My Christmas morning studs all ready for church. I love these outfits and purposely picked simple red and white because I figured they can wear them all winter (V-day, etc.).

Sweet Graham couldn't hang on Christmas eve morning. He NEVER falls asleep anywhere other than his bed or the car so this was a first. We looked down and he was passed out between us. Such a sweet sleeping baby he is.

This year Henry got his first "games"! Hungry Hungry Hippos and Pop the Pig. I've been on the hunt for the game Elefun as well. I figured it's good to have some things I can play with him that don't involve me having to move a lot.

We've been doing a lot of relaxing which is nice! I'm at a point in this pregnancy where no position is really comfortable for long.

I was smack dab 30 weeks on Christmas day! I saw my doctor yesterday and these girls are growing good and everything looks great. They have scheduled my c-section for January 27th, a day after my birthday! What a great late birthday gift, right? I'm getting nervous about the c-section because I've never had surgery before. I'm sure everything will go fine. I'm trying to wrap my head around the fact that this birth will be so different from my boys. There will be so many more people in the operating room and the girls will most likely be whisked away into the NICU for monitoring. I'm just praying for a smooth delivery and that the girls can be as healthy as possible and that we don't have to have a long NICU stay! Starting next week I will be on modified bed rest.

At our last appointment, the ultrasound tech and doctor were trying very hard to get a reading of the girls blood flow levels in their brains (they look at SO MUCH every time) and sweet baby Kate would not cooperate one bit. You could actually see her shaking her head as if saying, "No way lady" while they were trying to get her reading. It was hilarious. It's amazing to watch them on the screen and see all the limbs and heads and bodies just moving all around like crazy. It's a miracle that they all fit in there!

My sweet friend Marie has been helping me organize the girls nursery and the boys closet. She has been a godsend, especially with  my lack of energy or time to get it done myself with two toddlers running around!

These girls have so many clothes! They are going to be quite the fashionistas. I keep thinking we have WAY to much but then I remind myself that it's all for three!

These sweet prints will be going above each girl's crib. In the beginning I think we will have them in one crib but we'll see what happens when they are home!

Thank you for all the prayers, gifts, love and help that we've been given already! We are so thankful and appreciative for all of it!

Life lately

I can't believe that's it's almost December already!! Where did the time go? This kiddo is keeping us very busy because he is now in perpetual motion! Ha! Walking like a champ (minus a few bumps and bruises and a close run in with a kitchen table leg).  He loves walking his little toy up and down the driveway and sidewalk. Doesn't he look so small walking next to his daddy?

Check out that bruised head and little band-aid. He honestly just narrowly missed getting stitches. Let's keep the head boo-boo free please kiddo! You have lots of professional pictures happening this month!

We had a great Thanksgiving spent with my parents, sister and some family friends. Henry ate every part of the thanksgiving meal (he especially liked the cranberry sauce)!

Can you tell he loves his Gramps and Grammy?

He gives the best kisses. We are working on closed mouth ones next. He freely offers them, just be prepared for some slobber!

We put up our Christmas tree too! So far, the almost one year old hasn't messed with it much. I did make it a point to put all breakable ornaments up higher and kept the soft or plastic ones at his level. He does admire it and it just makes his daddy and I so happy. Christmas with a baby/toddler is so fun! He loves going on walks when it's dusk and seeing the Christmas lights the neighbors have in their yards too.

Thanksgiving break was so relaxing. Lazy morning eating homemade sweet potato waffles and enjoying having no where to be. Christmas break get here quick!

I said to Josh the other day, I don't know how I'm going to stretch this belly for another 4 months! I feel so large and in charge. Ha! I can feel lots of kicks and rolls now, which I'm so happy about.

Couldn't be more excited for this season! Starting to plan his 1st birthday and lots of family members are asking what to get him for his birthday/Christmas. I made a little image of things I've been thinking would be great gifts for a one year old. If you have any toys/activities that were a big hit with your kiddos when they were this age, could you share them?

That's life lately this week!

What's Up Wednesday- November edition

What We're Eating This Week...

I've made Shepherd's Pie and quiche so far. Spaghetti or lasagna will be on the menu sometime this week too. Henry's dream menu week (and a messy one for mama and daddy but oh well..)!
Need to start planning out some sides for Thanksgiving. Here are a few I found that look good.

I'm personally not a sweet potato fan but Henry and my parents love them. This might be a great side for them.

What I'm Reminiscing About...

Last Thanksgiving when I was a month away from having Henry. That was such a sweet time. I can't believe that I have an almost 11 month old kiddo and another on the way!!! Isn't it funny how you can't even imagine the plans that God will have for you life? Surprises are truly the best.

What I'm Loving....

These darn Christmas tree cookies. So bad for you but Josh and I love them. Something about them just brings back childhood memories! When you have a sweet tooth craving..this just hits the spot.

I'm also loving my new planner for 2018 from Project 365 and the Happy Planner company. It's a bit cheaper than Erin Condren but just as nice. If you click the link, it's available for $11.99 right now! That's crazy cheap! There are tons of different styles and colors as well. I choose the Classic Happy planner but the mini would probably fit perfectly in a purse!

What We've Been Up To....

Well, I haven't blogged about this yet but two weeks ago we had our 18 week ultrasound and the baby is a BOY! Henry is getting a brother. Which honestly, even though I was a teensy bit disappointed it wasn't a girl I think a brother 15 months apart is the best. Same toys, same kind of clothes..it really couldn't be easier. I think they will be best buddies. This baby already has a name and it's a secret but the letter is G. Ha. Guess away.

What I'm Dreading...
I know it's still a month away but Henry's 1 yr shots. Hear those are the worst. Ugh. Of course...right during the holidays too. Go figure.

What I'm Working On....

Planning Henry's 1st birthday! It's going to be small and squeezed in the busiest Christmas yet (family in town, a wedding a week later...etc.) but I still want to celebrate our sweet boy! I chose a Milk and Cookies theme. Pinterest is the best and worst. So many cute ideas...so little time.

What I'm Excited About...

So many things to be excited about. Thanksgiving, Baby's 1st Birthday, Christmas, my sister's wedding- can't choose which excites me the most! If I look like a train wreck the first week of January, you know why. Ha.

What I'm Watching/Reading/Listening To.....

Lots of Christmas music! Tis the season. Fun fact about me- favorite Christmas song is "O Come All Ye Faithful". The words and melody are just so precious and true. I like every single version I've ever heard of that song.  Reading...psssfffhhh. Don't have time and I miss it so much. But even when I go to bed at 8:30 with the goal to read an hour, I don't make it 15 minutes before I'm asleep. Just the season I'm in I guess.

I have been watching an episode here and there of The Good Place. It stars Kristen Bell and Ted Dansen. It's cute and little corny and just the right amount of funny. It's on Netflix in case you're wondering.

What I'm Wearing...

Lots of swing dresses, scarves and Lularoe leggings. They stretch so nice over a bump! I'm on the hunt for a pretty dress to wear for holidays and my sister's rehearsal dinner which is pretty fancy. Any suggestions? I'm eyeing these from Pink Blush Maternity. Leaning towards the navy lace one.

What I'm Doing This Weekend...

Saturday I have a women's choir practice at church and then it's time to start decorating my house for Christmas! We already put up one little tiny tree upstairs and Henry was enthralled. I love watching the awe of Christmas on a little one's face! Yes, I'm a bit terrified of the big tree and if he will leave it alone. We will find out I guess. Ha!

Gotta end with some cute Henry pics.

I hope you all have a great week! I can't believe November is almost over!
