Henry- you are almost 2 months old! Time has flown by! Your Dad and I have treasured each day with you. Some days seem long and some seem short but each is full of joy because you're ours!
Amazing how you've grown since we've brought you home from the hospital. You've developed quite the little personality. Around 6 weeks you really started to coo and give smiles, which really got us excited. I don't know who acts sillier to make you smile, Daddy or I?! You do seem to give Daddy you're biggest smiles so far. That's okay, I know that mine are coming.
Some things you like:
-being wrapped in a warm blanket and snuggled
-music (any type)
-looking out the window and going for walks (when the weather is nice)
-morning time with mommy
-daddy's whisker kisses on your cheeks
-anything you can suck (nurse, bottle and paci!)
-bath/or showers (I think you're going to be quite a water baby)
Some things you don't like:
-having your clothes or diaper changed
-having lotion rubbed on after a bath (we can't figure out why you hate this so much)
-being in your car seat when your awake
-when we take to long to feed or pick you up (ha!)
-being swaddled unless you are already dead asleep
We started putting you to sleep in your crib at 6 weeks. You've slept like a champ in there so far. We have a video monitor that we can use to see what you're doing at night. You sleep most nights from 9:30pm-6ish. Your dad and I appreciate this a lot!
When we took you to the pediatrician at your one month checkup, she agreed with us that you most likely have reflux. Since you've started on reflux meds you are a much more happy baby. You were so uncomfortable before the meds each time after you had eaten you would just cry and wail. It was so sad. We still make sure to keep you upright and not flat for at least 15-20 minutes after you eat and that seems to help with your comfort and helps you to not spit up as much.
That big guy in the picture is your best bud. Seeing you two interact and bond is the most precious thing. I hope you always have a close relationship with your dad.
I really relish my time with you first thing in the mornings. I hear you wake up on the monitor and I go in and am greeted with some coos and the occasional smile. You're so happy! You nurse and then we just rock and talk to each other for an hour. This week I had to meet with some of the ladies from work and I was away from you for 4 hours. Longest 4 hours of my life. I am dreading going back to work and leaving you.
You are so much fun, Henry John. I can only imagine how much you will change in the next months. Time please slow down!
