What's Up Wednesday

Just got back from a quick trip to Michigan. Last Wednesday I started to not feel so great and it only got worse from there. Why is it that when you have a busy weekend that your body just decides to not cooperate? Doesn't help that when you're pregnant there is only certain kind of meds you can take. So anyhow, I'm spending this Tuesday cooped up in the house after going to the doctors. My O2 levels were low and my little cold turned into a nice chest infection which required a round of antibiotics, a new kind of inhaler and a breathing treatment at the doctors office. I guess they take asthma and anything breathing related extra serious when you're pregnant. So I snoozed most of the afternoon, caught up on school emails and now catching up this blog of mine!  Hope I feel much better in the morning. Miss my kiddos!

What We're Eating This Week
I have a new crockpot recipe cooking as I type. I stumbled across a version of Broccoli and Cheese soup that can be made in the crockpot on Pinterest. That sounded like a yummy thing to try when you're not feeling the best. The recipe creator swears it tastes just like Panera's...I'll let you know what I think.

The BEST Broccoli Cheese Soup recipe, made EASY in the crock pot! Your slow cooker does all the work. Made with lots of fresh broccoli and cheddar, and always a crowd favorite! | wellplated.com @wellplated:

What I'm Reminiscing About...

Josh's best buddy Andy got married this past weekend. Weddings are always so fun. Being with friends and family just makes them so memorable. I got to see my hubby in a tux for the first time. He looked quite handsome but then again I'm partial! Andy and Kaytlyn made a beautiful couple and we wish them all kinds of wonderful blessings for their marriage and life together.
I even included a video of my husband doing his signature move "the fish". Our church youth group requests this move from him often. It's comical.

What I'm Loving.......

The tiny glimpse of fall weather we had while in Michigan. The leaves were just starting to change up there and the temps were in the high 60's. It seems like it'll be a while before we have those temps here in North Carolina but we enjoyed the cooler temps while we were there. These leaves were on the ground and they were too pretty not to take a quick snapshot!

What We've Been Up To.....

While we were in Michigan for the wedding, I also had my first baby shower! Josh's sister Aimee and our good friend Stacy threw it for us. Their decorations were so adorable and they had some fun games. The theme was "Little Man" so lots of mustaches and bow ties!

They even had a design your own bow tie station. Baby boy now has a box full of bow ties! :o)

Of course....Batman gear. The BatDad was thrilled. Ha.

This kid. Oh the one liners we could quote from him this weekend. What a ham.

These two are the best buds. Their bond is just precious.

What I'm Dreading...
This is dumb thing to dread. You'd think needles wouldn't bother me anymore after all the sticks Josh gave me to get pregnant. At my next appointment I have to get the flu shot and other vaccines. Since I'm increased risk with asthma and everything, I have to take all kinds of extra precautions. I just hate shots. I also get to do the lovely glucose test. Not excited about that either. Ugh.

What I'm Working On.....

I need to get cracking on my nursery! Our glider and crib arrived that we had ordered from Wayfair. The glider is awesome but the crib was dented in a few spots and we just didn't love it. So back it went. I'd really like to find a place that sells cribs in stores (not babies r us) that we can see them in person. Online is great but it's hard to tell the quality sometimes. Any suggestions?
I'm on the hunt still for a dresser and shelves/frames. Seems a daunting task to finish this room but I know it'll all come together!

What I'm Excited About (and looking forward to next month)...
October is BUSY BUSY BUSY. I'm traveling again to Michigan for my second baby shower with my side of the family. I'm so excited to see everyone! School conferences, doctors appointments, Josh's 35th birthday and a youth weekend are all in the plans this coming month. I'm going to try and enjoy the entry of the fall season too. Maybe escape to the mountains for a day.

What I'm Watching/Reading....

Call the Midwife loaded a new season on Netflix. Currently binge watching that. According to my husband I'm also a total nerd. I've found Cheers and started watching episodes from that as well. Hey, it's light hearted and I wasn't old enough to watch it when it originally aired. If that makes me a nerd, oh well. It has such a catchy theme song too. Ha!

As for reading, I've been trying to finish the sequel to Me Before You called After You by Jojo Moyes. It's good but I just haven't had the time to just sit down and finish it.

What I'm Listening To.......
All Sons and Daughters has put out a new album. They are one of my favorites. I've attached the video of one of the songs I love called I Surrender. Baby L likes this song too...he kicks away when I'm playing it in the car in the mornings on our drive to school.

What I've Been Wearing.....
Loved my Loft dress that I wore to the wedding this weekend. It was not maternity either. Better wear it while I can.

I got an awesome pair of black maternity jeans at Target which I've been wearing frequently. Still too hot here to really break out any of my cute fall clothes. Maybe next month's post I will have more to share!

What I'm Doing This Weekend.....
Getting an oil change is on the agenda. Fun stuff, huh? Picking up the house, grocery shopping and trying to meal plan are also in order. Plus, just plain old relaxing. Yay!

Hope you are all having a wonderful week!!
