This week has been full of hard things. It is so difficult to watch family and dear friends live through heartaches and very painful times. I have to wonder to myself what God's plan is in all this turmoil? Is there really any goodness that can shine through all of this?
Of course, God always shows himself when you study his word! These verses stuck out to me the past two days and it was on my heart to share them with you!
Waiting. Never a fun word really. Waiting on the Lord definitely sounds more fun that waiting in the drive thru, the grocery checkout line, for test results, the situations are endless. Courage is something that is not always easy to have but when you wait on the Lord and not yourself, he always supplies it! It's amazing that when you slow down and pray and give your wishes, desires, pleas, hopes, and burdens to him while you wait- he gives you immeasurable strength. Strength to persevere in the waiting. Strength to weather the good and the bad. The times I have found the most strength are times when I had to give up trying to solve the problems by myself and let HIM have them.
The two words that stand out in this verse are carry and rescue! It makes tears come to my eyes just knowing we have a God that will carry and rescue us from things and times that burden us. We have done nothing to deserve this amazing love but he gives it to us anyway. What a message of hope! He knows what we need before we ever ask, how awesome is that? It blows me mind to hear stories of how he has rescued and carried people through so many seemingly impossible things. My prayer is that we can feel God with us in those hard times and that we can recognize who ultimately rescues us each time!
Please say a prayer for:
-A dear friend who's baby was born with complications of the heart. Pray that doctors and nurses can have wisdom and knowledge for treatment of that sweet baby's condition and compassion and kindness towards her family. We know that God is the ultimate healer and we trust him! He has already responded to many prayers by bringing renewed hope to her situation. God is good!
- The loss of a young mother from our community this week in a car crash. I can't imagine the pain her husband, young children and family are experiencing right now.
-A young boy who died after a long battle with cancer. Another family who needs lots of love and prayers.
There are so many others that I've probably missed. If you know of someone who's in need of prayers, feel free to leave a comment at the bottom of the post. Let's all support and pray for one another- prayer truly changes things!
To end on a positive note- a few quick snapshots of precious moments in life that I'm thankful for!
A beautiful, sunny day! Seeing my kinders playing together and enjoying God's awesome creation just makes me smile. (We may have had extended recess...shhh, don't tell!) Teaching my little girls how to jump rope was a hoot too!
Spring flowers. I bought a bunch of these from the grocery store on Sunday and at the time there were only buds. Two days later and look at all those blooms. They makes me smile every time I walk by them!
