Thankfulness

I'm enjoying my Thanksgiving devotions from She Reads Truth. One this week in particular really spoke to me.  It was titled Giving Thanks In Joy by Amanda Bible Williams. It spoke about remember to give thanks to God when he blesses us with an answer to a prayer or need. Seems simple, right? This line in particular just hit me.

          

 "Do we offer up a “thank you” to correspond to each “please”? 

Or do we shift our gaze to the next thing on the horizon?"

How many times have I forgot to give thanks for something I was given? It reminded me to slow down and really count my blessings and to say THANK YOU to our wonderful and merciful God for it all! 
Loved these lines from the devotional:

"He is in the wanting and in the asking.

He is in the waiting and the receiving.

He is in the mourning and the dancing. 

Our God is in and before and beyond it all."

 Jesus asked, “Didn’t I heal ten men? Where are the other nine?  Has no one returned to give glory to God except this foreigner?”  And Jesus said to the man, “Stand up and go. Your faith has healed you.* ”
