Trying out something new. I enjoy reading other blogs that do this fun Friday edition and thought I'd try it!
1. Goodies from Germany
A HUGE thanks to my mom and dad who brought me back so many goodies from Germany. Some of the items they brought me were: Salad dressings, Meal starters, Soups, breadcrumbs, and my favorite Haribo Mini Gummi bears! I'm excited to make Weinerschnitzel and yummy cucumber and carrot salads with German dressing.
2. Patriotic Decorations
I try (emphasis on try..) to decorate seasonally- but the summer season is often so busy that I don't even bother! Well, I have had some downtime so I got out my handy dandy sewing machine. I had some red and white fabric scraps but I needed some navy so I found an old scrubby t-shirt of Josh's and cut it up. I cut the scraps into triangles and then sewed them together. The end result was cute red, white and blue bunting to hang on my fireplace! I also used Pinterest to find some cute free printables and added them to frames. I think it turned out pretty cute!
3. "Fixer Upper" a show on HGTV
Oh my word...I have found a new favorite show. If only this husband and wife team lived in NC! Joanna and Chip seem so genuine. They have four kids and are renovating their own home while renovating other homes as well. I love their designs and it's so fun to watch them work together. It's rare to find a husband and wife that can work together and not KILL each other! I've included a few of my favorite images of their work! Everything that Joanna designs is totally my style. If only I had unlimited amounts of cash....
Here's a link to their website: http://magnoliahomes.net/
4. Planning for Fall!
I know it's summer but if you are a teacher, teaching is never not in your brain! I've already begun planning and pinning fun things to try with my Kinders in the fall.
These hanging baskets would be perfect for organizing centers!
I've pinned tons of fun Literacy centers that my kiddos should be able to do independently right away.
And can we get an "Amen-Hallelujah" for Pandora?!?! If you've never used Pandora radio you have to check it out. It's free with some commercials- but I use it EVERYDAY in my classroom. The kids and I all work much better with music playing around us!
5. Lunch with Friends
Nothing makes my week better than having lunch with a friend. Doesn't hurt that we enjoyed a delicious meal at Tupelo Honey Cafe, yum! I love summer for all the free time I have to catch up with sweet friends. Love ya, Mandy- thanks for asking me!
Hey Michelle! I love your blog! You do a great job writing!
