A Fabulous Fourth!

Wasn't it wonderful to have the Fourth of July on a Friday this year? I wish it could be that way every year! My parents invited a few friends from church to celebrate the day with us. We enjoyed the afternoon by boating and enjoying the water- which is the same temp as bath water! A few went tubing. Josh and I aren't the most fond of tubing but we enjoy watching everyone else get thrown off the tube! Ha!

The fun on the lake was followed by food and fellowship at my parents. Tried and true American goodness! BBQ ribs and chicken, some potato salad, fruit and veggies! Oh-and a Coke! Yum!

Weekend in Charleston

We experienced a wonderful weekend in Charleston, SC with our awesome youth group. We headed out on Saturday morning and prayed for sun! It has rained in Charlotte for (no joke!!) 3 weeks straight! So the promise of the nice hot sun was very enticing.
Our first stop was Folley Beach- a quiet (usually) little beach 10-15 mins outside of downtown Charleston. It was the perfect temperature, the waves were great and the water temp was comfortable= fun for all!
In the evening I used my trusty Trip Advisor app to locate a yummy spot for dinner. We enjoyed gourmet burgers at Sesame Burgers and Beer. Delicious!

On Sunday we joined the congregation in Charleston for a wonderful service and fellowship. Mom got in some baby lovin' while we were there.

We decided to do a little sightseeing Sunday afternoon since most of the group had never been downtown! We did a little walking through the market and along the waterfront. Some bought a cone or cup of gelato and others some peach lemonade! It was hot, Hot, HOT outside so we began to wilt after about 2 hours of exploring. It was still fun though.

We love our youth group and feel very privileged and blessed to lead them!
