What's up Wednesday?

I love this link-up! It does take forever to write but fun to share!

What We're Eating This Week

Since it's Spring break I have a lot of time to cook! I planned an easy menu this week, lots of grilling happening! We just got a new grill after a year without one, so  we are enjoying quick and easy grill nights.
Some things I'm making are:
Homemade burgers with grilled veggies
Grilled Pork chops with roasted potatoes and green beans

Brown Sugar and Bacon Green Beans from SixSistersStuff.com:

Spinach and Peppers Frittata

What I'm Reminiscing About
The other day I was remembering my Oma (paternal grandmother). I was thinking about the last time she visited (Winter 2013) and came to my school. She was so impressed with an "American" school and she wanted to stay to see every part of the day! She thought the cafeteria was so neat because in Germany the kids go home for lunch. That was the year I taught first grade with my loop babies and they were so sweet with her. My mom and Oma brought salt dough and taught the kids how to make a pretzel! We then baked them in the oven and made them into Christmas ornaments. It was a fun day. A great memory to have and cherish.

What I'm Loving
I'm loving not waking up at 6:15 in the morning! The joys of Spring break, haha!
Here's some randoms...

Thanks (not really) to my hubby who loves these. I've never tried them until we were married. Now when he brings a bag home, they are gone in two days! Yikes!

New music! Sweet Ruth from church loaned me two of her Lorie Line books to try out. I'm loving playing from them this week. I used two of the hymn versions from this book on Easter morning. So pretty!

What We've Been Up To
Nothing really too exciting has been going on lately. We are gearing up for a busy April so we've been enjoying the downtime of March! I started work on our yard. My mom came over and helped me trim bushes and plant new flowers in my flower beds and in my porch baskets. I need to invest in a couple of nice and bright perennials that I can plant in the front of my house that are low maintenance. Do you have any suggestions? I love my daylillies and other flowers that grow back each year, makes gardening so easy! Josh and I have been cleaning out closets and reorganizing things- his home office is next on the list. We are hoping to bring some items (furniture and other small items) to my parents' neighborhood garage sale and I want to get all cleaned out and organized before then. Word of advice to anyone getting married or buying their first place. DO NOT BUY BLACK FURNITURE. Biggest regret. I'm talking about big pieces of black furniture. I have some black dining chairs that I love, those aren't an issue. We have quite a few pieces of big black furniture that were very trendy when we first got married and I've regretted it since. It shows so much dust and is hard to keep clean.

What I'm Dreading
Well for our next FET (frozen embryo transfer) my doctor wants to change up my med protocol a bit. I'm going to have to add progesterone in oil shots. Yuck. From everything I've read these are the WORST. They take forever to administer and the oil makes it really thick. Of course, you have to give these in your bum and I guess they cause really bad bruising. Not looking forward to those at all. I hope they are not as bad as I've heard and that they truly help us achieve success this time!!

What I'm Working On
One of my projects I hope to tackle next Monday (teacher workday) is to organize my math centers into this nifty organizer! (This is an example below.) I've been looking at them for a while online and couldn't justify $50 for the cart. Luckily I was at Aldi's and they had a version that looks exactly like the one below for $25! SOLD! I'm hoping to put my weekly math centers according to our math goals and they rotate them out weekly. All the kids would have to do is come up and take the game out of the drawer. I LOVE doing guided math. It's an easy way to teach, assess and allow the kids to build independence while they practice math skills.

What I'm Excited About
I'm already looking forward to family coming to visit at the end of May! Plus, once allergy season has passed (the yellow pollen especially) I'll be able to spend more time enjoying the outdoors. That means fun evenings at the Whitewater center, driving with the windows down, going on the boat and the opening of our pool! Yippee!

What I'm Watching/Reading
I just finished reading Dear Mr. Knightley by Katherine Reay. It was a great and easy read. I love anything remotely Jane Austen and this book did not disappoint. It's set in modern times and isn't what you expect it to be about. Check out the link for the plot line description.

As far as watching, I've been getting caught up on American Crime Story: The People v. O.J Simpson. It crazy to watch it as an adult because at the time it was happening I was in 6th grade. I remember watching the car chase on tv at school but I didn't get much of the trial so it's basically brand new to me. Josh remembers a bit more than me (proves he's older than I am). Haha!

What I'm Listening To
I love listening to anything from Bethel Music. Such beautiful melodies and lyrics. Below is my favorite right now!

What I'm Wearing
A few months back I bought this cute orange dress at Loft. It seemed to be the perfect dress for me to wear on Easter since it was a little chilly. Loved wearing my nude pumps as well. My poor legs need to see some sun though (cringe). The handsome guy next to me is always my best accessory, don't you agree?

I'm excited to get this little beauty in the mail from Old Navy. How cute are the stripes? I also love that it's linen and lined. Bonus.

What I'm Doing This Weekend
I honestly have no plans! That's a rarity! Sunday is a busy day with one of young adults completing their confirmation in our church. We have our small group choir rehearsal that day too. We are participating in Spring Sing at the end of the month which is with a group of churches in the community. It's always a fun day of worship and experiencing different musical styles and selections.
Saturday I may take a drive to the Gaffney outlets to do some snooping in the Pottery Barn outlet store. I'm on the hunt for a pretty round/oval table like the ones pictured below. Hopefully I can find one for a great price!
Haire46 In the den Joanna added two new sets of french doors to bring in more natural light. Chip wrapped the existing beams and sanded and then re-stained the original hardwoods with a “Minwax Provincial” stain. Joanna balanced the built-ins by the fireplace and the wood elements in both the den and the breakfast nook with a calm and peaceful color scheme and decor.:  Loren Wood Round / Oval Dining Table & Chairs in Distressed Deep Cherry Humbleabode.com 54" Out of Stock:

What I'm Looking Forward To Next Month
We do not have a date quite yet but our third try at FET should be happening in April. I'm excited and nervous at the same time because we are doing something things differently. Praying that our great God's hand guides our decisions and doctors and that he blesses us with the child we would so love to have!

I hope you are all having a wonderful Spring break!
