Anyone else in shock that it's the end of 2016 already?? This year has just flown by! I thought I'd do a What's Up Wednesday post to close out the year.
What We're Eating This Week....
We haven't been home the past week, so we've been at the mercy of our families to feed us! Ha!
At Josh's parents we ate enchiladas and his mom's famous Chicken a'la Ritz. Super yummy, I need to get the recipe then I will share it with you all! We are at my grandparents house currently, so we've had homemade chicken salad and delicious cookies. It's going to be rough next week when I have to start cooking again!
What I'm Reminiscing About....
Josh's little sister Angel got a lot of craft sets for Christmas. One of them was a bracelet making kit. It brought back so many memories of my 10 year old self laying by the pool in the summer, using embroidery thread to make bracelets and necklaces with my cousins. She was very patient with me as I taught her how to weave the bracelets too. Just funny how all fads come back in style again...or maybe never go out?
What I'm Loving....
I LOVE TARGET AFTER CHRISTMAS SALES!! I love getting new wrapping paper, ribbon and decorations at 50% or more! I also got an adorable big bowl and a beautiful wooden cheese board. How pretty are the etched ends? Score!
What We've Been Up To......
We've been blessed to spend so much time with both sides of our families. That's a bonus to both being from Michigan (different sides..but none the less). I was so excited to finally meet my family's latest addition, Judah and spend some time with Bethany and Torrey. What a sweet baby boy he is! We also got to meet Brad and Sarah's little guy, Archie. He's a cutie as well. So nice to spend time with family and friends we don't see very often. It's also been nice to snuggle our nieces and nephew (when he slows down to be snuggled..ha)!
What I'm Dreading....
The 11 and a half hour drive home tomorrow? Need I say more? Please say a prayer for a safe travel day for us.
What I'm Working On....
I stumbled upon this fun challenge to practice my hand lettering in the month of January. I'll be posting the results on Instagram (MLINDSTEDT). I'm inspired by the work of friends and other favorite bloggers.
Some inspiration from one of my favs...Cara Carroll.
What I'm Excited About....
Spending the afternoon and evening with my darling cousin, Alyssa. I wish distance wasn't so great and I could see her more often. It doesn't hurt that I'll get some good baby Cora squeezes in too! Josh will be happy to watch football and eat some snacks with Greg! I've never been a big New Years Eve party girl...staying in and relaxing is more my style.
What I'm Watching/Reading....
I've been reading For the Love by Jen Hatmaker. Yes...I've been reading this same book for 3 months. I've been reading it in chunks. It's a great read.
We rented the movie War Room last night and watched it with my grandparents. It's the second time I've watched it and I've gleaned something new from it each time. It reinforces the importance of praying for your spouse and marriage. God is always in control, so we can either fight his will for us or give the reigns to him! So much easier to let him lead.
What I'm Listening To...
This is my jam in the past few weeks. When I need to calm down, reflect or feel frustrated, I play this song.
What I'm Wearing....
Lots of scarves and tunics! I love this blanket scarf I received for Christmas from my sister. I found a cool picture on Pinterest that shows the different ways to wear the scarf. I've only mastered a few but I'll keep practicing!
What I'm Doing This Weekend...
Unpacking, doing laundry, grocery shopping and getting ready for the school week. I'll need the weekend to recuperate after a long and busy trip.
What I'm looking forward to next month...
January is shaping up to be a busy month already. We are asking for prayers as we start our 2nd Embryo Transfer. I'm praying so hard for it to be successful and have no complications, but Josh and I trust our Heavenly Father and know that he is a good father and wants the best for us. We trust in his plan.
I hope all you are all blessed with a wonderful 2016! See you in the New Year!
