What's up Wednesday-January 2019

What We're Eating This Week.....
I can't believe I'm saying this but I actually meal planned, prepped and have followed it so far this week! Here's some of the meals on the menu.
Monday- Ravioli with Chicken sausage and veggies
Tuesday- Meatloaf with sweet potatoes and slaw
Wednesday- Leftovers (we aren't usually left over people but I'm embracing it...)
Thursday- Sausage, Peppers and Onion skillet supper
Friday- Take-out
I've also tried to be good about prepping for lunches as well. I've either brought leftovers or made egg salad, etc and it was all good! No school lunch!

What I'm Reminiscing about....
All the friendships I made through my church youth group. My dad's retirement from ministry is coming up next weekend and I can't help but be thankful for all the friendships I've made from traveling around with him over different weekends. I always loved that time with my dad. I can remember even as a young little girl getting to go with my dad to visit other congregations on a Sunday. He would call me his co-pilot. If it was in the summer, we'd always stop at Dairy Queen after! Ha! Sweet memories. A lot of people always ask if we regret our dad traveling all the time (for church, missionary trips, and work) and while we didn't see him as much as we would have liked, I know that God blessed our family for that sacrifice and I wouldn't trade it at all.

What I'm Loving.....
I'm loving this kiddo's toothy grin! Graham's top and bottom two are popped out and they touch when he smiles. He has also taken to clicking them together. It's hilarious. Cutest face ever. I'm asked all the time if he really is as happy as he looks. Yes, he truly is. When he's not, he's sick. I'm blessed I guess!

What We've Been Up To....
I think life with two babies equals lots of germs. Both boys have had ear infections in the past two weeks. Poor Henry has had one for three weeks that will not respond to any meds that he has been given. Tubes are in his near future. Fourth ear infection since September.

Graham has started pulling up and scooting by holding on to things. Poor Henry's beloved train track is constantly being destroyed (much to his dismay) but it's so fun to see this development in Graham. It's just all going so fast! Time slow down!
They are starting to play together so nicely. Graham laughs and crawls to follow Henry everywhere he goes. Henry quite enjoys the audience to and it warms my heart when Graham is the first person he asks for when he wakes up in the morning.

What I'm Dreading....
Henry getting tubes. I'm sure it's an easy procedure but it stills makes my mama heart nervous.

What I'm Working On....
Trying to be more organized. I got a new Happy Planner and I'm trying to be good about writing down a daily schedule/weekly meal plan/etc. to feel less anxious and more orderly. I've been feeling very overwhelmed in all areas of life and like I am only doing mediocre jobs in each of them. I read the quote below the other day and it resonated with me. I can't lose myself just because I'm now someones mom. So I'm vowing to make self care a priority. Whether it's reading a chapter of a book, typing a blog post, getting a massage or just driving home listening to a podcast by myself...it's important.

What I'm Excited About...
My dad's retirement from ministry next weekend. My siblings and many extra friends and family are going to be in town and I look forward to spending that time with everyone. My in laws are also coming into town to help with the boys since the weekend will be so busy. I'm so glad they will get to spend some much treasured time with the boys!

What I'm Watching/Reading....
Watching:
Just finished the whole season of Sex Education on Netflix. I enjoyed the writing and the characters. (Not for young kids as if the title didn't give that away!)
Reruns of The Office. Josh's go to which he pretty much watches each evening.

Reading:
I made good on my New Year's resolution to read 1 book a month. (Ha, it's only January!)
I read Becoming Michelle Obama and loved it. She seems like someone who'd be a blast to have dinner with! Any one got a great suggestion for my February pick? Not a fan of thrillers/murder type books but I'm game for anything else.

What I'm Wearing.....
I'm kind of in a clothes rut. Post partum baby number 2 hasn't been as easy recovery as I had hoped. My middle section is blah and pants are not the most comfy. I'm not a jeans person really as it is and now even less. I did get a pair of high rise black jeans from Gap that are stretchy and pretty comfy. Now I just need to find a good blue denim pair. Also..I actually admitted this to my cousin tonight. Can you believe I don't own a hoodie? I have loads of "nice" clothes but hardly any cozy, atheleisure type clothes which are what I WANT to be wearing. Going to invest in some of that soon!
I did buy this cute dress at JCrew for Easter! Isn't it cute?

What I'm Doing This Weekend.....
I'm hoping to visit my sweet friend Melanie and meet her new baby twin boys! I can't wait to get some newborn snuggles! Also, Henry is in dire need of a haircut. His hair is getting a little out of control.

What's I'm Looking Forward To Next Month....
My grandfather is turning 90! I hope to make a quick trip up there to celebrate with him and have some much needed extended family time! Hopefully Michigan will have thawed a little by then!

Thanks for reading! I'll just be snuggling this cutie the rest of the evening!
