Show and Tell Tuesday- Who's Coming to Dinner?

I'm linking up with one of my favorite bloggers for Show and Tell Tuesday! Today's topic seemed so fun and I'm interested to see who other people would invite! When I thought about who I'd invite to a dinner party, my imagination took off! There are so many people that I would love to have over for dinner! I chose people from the present and the past. I also asked Josh and his picks are below mine.

1 & 2: Dax Shepard and Kristen Bell
These two just crack me up! Every dinner party needs to have some humor and good stories being shared, right? If you want to see how funny they are, just go on youtube and watch any of their guest spots on Ellen! I promise you will laugh.

3. Eleanor Roosevelt
When I was in 5th grade I did a research project on Eleanor Roosevelt. I was fascinated by her and thought she was the bees knees. I've read countless biographies about her life and she just interests me very much. Her experiences as First Lady and her life before and after the White House are all things I would love to hear first hand from her. She seemed like an independent, smart and very compassionate person.

4. Billy Graham
If you only begin to think of where he has traveled and what mission areas he has worked in, you are amazed. He is a great speaker and lives to spread the gospel to all areas of the world. I think there would be so much wisdom that he could share with us during our dinner.

5. Julie Andrews
Totally geeking out here! She's probably my absolute favorite possible dinner date ever! I have loved Julie Andrews for as long as I can remember. The Sound of Music and Mary Poppins were two of my favorite movies growing up! On itunes I have all her musicals and Christmas albums. Her voice is just amazing to me! When I was about 8 years old, I wrote to the Mickey Mouse Club and asked if I could meet her. They had a segment where you'd write in about the celebrity you'd love to meet. Of course...they never called. New Kids on the Block, Janet Jackson, etc. were more popular in the 90's. Go figure. Anyhow, she's a favorite person of mine!

Above are Josh's dinner picks! Gandhi, Mozart, Walt Disney, Abraham Lincoln and Oskar Schindler. I'll let him explain why he picked them!

Apparently, school did some good as I was introduced or learned more about each of these people during my K-12 years. Most by film (one of my favorite genres, not much of a reader) but I did have to read to do more research on all these individuals.
1. Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi - Mahatma, I have been fascinated with Gandhi and his non violent approach ever since being introduced to him in history class by watching the 1982 Best Picture Winner of the same title: Gandhi.

2. Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart - he was a child prodigy and those abilities continued into his adult years though he passed at the young age of 35. His story is so interesting and he was a such character too. Check out Amadeus - Best Picture 1984

3. Walter Elias "Walt" Disney - interestingly enough I did an autobiography of Walt in 4th grade, we had to dress up and become the person (I even drew on a mustache). You always think Mickey Mouse and Disneyland/World but that is just part of the story.

4.Abraham Lincoln - another autobiography person for me, wore a top hat and everything. I just think he was such an incredible individual and from what I can tell humble and thought about more than himself. A true leader by example.

5.Oskar Schindler - well this one is interesting, the holocaust has always had a huge place in my heart, then I discovered Anne Frank which again continued to add to this incredible but also terrifying time in history. Enter Schindler's List, yes another movie, but told another incredible journey of someone willing to make a difference at whatever cost, the part that always gets me is at the end when the war is over and he sees little things like a pin that he wishes he could go back and "sell" for another person to "work" in factory. It is just an incredible story and one I think about often.
