30 Day Gratitude Photo Challenge- #1-9

(update...to see my Five for Friday post, you're going to need to click on the Life with the Lindstedt's banner...)

Day 1: Words (the word TRAVEL pictured above)
I'm thankful that my parents gave us the gift of traveling to so many different countries and places while we were young. I have so many memories and experiences that I will never forget!

Day 2: Technology
Of course, I would take a picture of my phone. Let's be real. To most of us this is the current technology that we can't live without! While it is a total time sucker as well, I'm thankful that I have a form of communication to stay in touch with family and friends. I'm especially grateful for Facetime and Skype! Being an aunt to nieces and nephews in other states- it's nice to see them anytime we want through technology!

Day 3: Nature
Just happened that when I walked out my front door on the way to the pool one day I saw this beautiful butterfly in my flowers. I ran inside to grab my nice camera. Thank you God for these glimpses of your majestic creation! P.S- Butterflies love Lantana flowers. I always have tons fluttering around them!

Day 4: Clothing
I have a hard time picking one article clothing that I love best. I'm a little total clothes hoarder. I probably can clothe my mom and sister both and we'd all have 20-30 outfits each! YIKES. I just have to remember how blessed I am to have clothes, even if it's just 1 outfit! It's more than some people have.

Day 5: Knowledge
I'm a reader. I love books, magazines, blogs...you name it, I enjoy reading it. My husband is NOT a reader and neither is my sister (they CAN read but just do not for enjoyment). I don't really know why I developed a love for reading and they didn't but I'm thankful everyday that teachers and my parents instilled a love of reading in my little heart. I only hope I can do the same for my students and future children!

Day 6: Memories
I love this little watercolor print that we purchased on our honeymoon. We bought it on the beautiful island of Mykonos, Greece. We had it in a closet forever and finally I found a pretty frame and got the hubby to hang it in our bedroom. I'm so thankful for that 2 week slice of heaven that our honeymoon was!

Day 7: Innovation
Who invented the clock? I suppose I should google and find out, ha! I know it's not really innovative today but can you imagine how knowing and telling time has changed our world?!? Time goes fast and slow and we are pretty mindful of it all day.

Day 8: Sleep
Doesn't my bed look comfy? Summer time is the season where I can be grateful the most for sleep. I can actually catch up on sleep that I missed during the school year. Not only do I get an awesome 9 hours at night, I even get a few naps in there too!

Day 9: Holidays
I haven't taken down my patriotic mantel decorations yet. I'm savoring that last bit of summer before fall arrives (my FAVORITE). The image that little frame bears is the truth. I'm so grateful to live in this great country. I know we have our battles and issues but we have SO many blessings that we overlook. If we only celebrated and remembered those blessings, imagine how much greater our country would be?!

********

Thank for reading this long post. It's been fun to use a "real" camera and not iphone pics. I really want to to learn how to use manual mode but this girl is clueless. A photo class is unfortunately not in the budget currently either. Anyone know of an awesome online tutorial for Nikon camera users??
