What's Up Wednesday

I'm linking up with some of my favorite bloggers today with What's Up Wednesday! Make sure to check out their blogs!

Okay, here we go!

What We're Eating This Week....
Just so happens that I've tried my hand at quite a few new recipes over the past couple of days.
My cousin Nicole pinned this awesome and easy recipe on her pinterest board. I saw it and decided it looked like a good dinner for a summer night! It turned out quite delicious! I love brats on the grill but our grill is currently on the fritz. Bummer. This was a equal replacement!

These chicken breasts look delicious too. I love anything glazed with balsamic! This is on the menu for Thursday night!

What I'm Reminiscing About.....

We celebrated our 6th wedding anniversary on Sunday! We were greatly surprised that it was exactly as it was 6 years ago..Father's Day and the first day of summer! Josh and I drove over to Belmont and enjoyed a yummy meal at Old Stone. I just adore Belmont and it's cute shops and restaurants. Of course...I adore the guy pictured too. I've been blessed by his love and faithfulness. I really am proud to call him mine!

What I'm Loving.....

This one is always tricky for me because I love so many things!
These are amazing. I transport myself back to 5 or 6 years old when I enjoy one of these. Yum.

I do not consider myself a techie person by any means but this speaker is the bomb! My father in law gave it to us and we have used it EVERYDAY this past week. While we shower, while I cook- you name it! It's bluetooth enabled and doesn't need any cords except for charging. Who knew something so small could be life changing?!

What We've Been Up To...
We have been settling into a summer routine slowly but surely. Josh goes to work as normal and I wake up an hour or so later. Do some housework/cleaning. Watch some netflix. Lay out at the pool. Take a nap. Cook dinner. My days can seem kind of monotonous in the summer. I get so used to bunches of people being around me all day that the summer is really LONELY. It's true.
So this year to combat laziness I have decided to take some online classes. One for photography and another for hand lettering. I haven't touched the photography one yet but the hand lettering class has been fun! I've been practicing quite a bit.

What I'm Dreading....
This is so embarrassing....but it's going to the dentist. Please don't judge me but I haven't been in over a year! I know, it's so awful! I'm pretty positive that I have a cavity which really gives me anxiety. Just typing this reminds me that I need to call and make an appointment this week! I'm switching dentists, so anyone in the Denver/Mountain Island area that has suggestions, please comment!

What I'm Working On....
I'm always working on a bunch of different projects. I've started a few sewing projects (patriotic bunting and some onesies) as well as practicing some new piano accompaniments for the church choir. One of the pieces is By Our Love by Christy Nockels. What a beautiful song!

What I'm Excited About....
This weekend we are hosting some youth from Chicago, Milwaukee, South Bend and Atlanta. It's looking to be a fun weekend. They are going to spend a day at the Whitewater Center and another checking out uptown Charlotte. I've been planning out all the meals. Excited for them to try traditional NC bbq on Saturday night. We are getting to catered from a local bbq place- Hillbilly's BBQ. So yummy!

What I'm Watching/Reading...
Two shows are keeping me laughing right now. They are Fresh Off the Boat and The Goldberg's
The first one is about a Chinese family that moves to Orlando. It's very funny. The second is an nostalgic ode to 80's culture. I love it just for the memories!
Below are four of my current reads.

What I'm Listening To....
Ted Talk podcasts and podcasts by the ladies behind Stuff You Missed in History Class. Our long car ride to MI got me hooked! I'm also enjoying listening to All Sons and Daughters, Christy Nockels and Rend Collective while I'm driving and working around the house.

What I'm Wearing...
Being the Loft girl that I am, here are my latest purchases! I love the skirt, dress (I have in black) and tank (which I own in 2 colors).

What I'm Looking Forward to Next Month....
July is a big month for us! We begin the IVF process...lots of shots! Our egg retrieval will happen at the end of the month. So prayers and happy thoughts are greatly appreciated! It's exciting and terrifying at the same time but I'm so happy to finally be making progress on the baby front!

Thanks for checking in! Sorry for the long post!
