32

I feel like Adele when I wrote the title to this post! Ha! (If you don't get that reference, you may just be living under a rock... Just kidding).

I don't know why but typing that number just made me feel as old as dirt. Honestly though, I love the number 2 so maybe it's going to be a good year. On your birthday if you are a Facebook user, you know what it feels like to be the most celebrated person of the hour! So overwhelming! In a good way! I feel so much love and have truly fabulous friends.

The eve of 32 wasn't so fabulous....we received some not great news. IVF #2 did not work, so it's back to square one again. So deflating (insert many other not so nice words and adjectives). So I tried my best to get all my crying out in those last hours of year 31. Since thinking about this right now is  a bit overwhelming and depressing, I'm going to try and practice joy and thankfulness instead. It is so hard, believe me. This was in my devotional today and it took my breath away. How appropriate. Giving up my control of life to his WILL is the hardest thing (crazy..should be the easiest) but it's something I'm working hard on every day.

So any how...back to thankfulness. Here are 32 things I'm thankful for and love a lot.

1. God and my faith
2. My sweet husband. You all already know he's my number 1 guy. I'm so blessed. Let's be honest...not many people can rock Cookie monster pj pants quite like him.

3 & 4. My wonderful parents and siblings. I'm so thankful that God placed me in this family...it doesn't get any better than this. I know that we all drive each other nuts some most of the time but there is no other people I'd rather have as my family.
5. Extended family. Grandparents, cousins, my husbands wonderful family....I've really been placed in a great group of supportive, loving and faithful people. People who have prayed with me, loved me and continue to accept me as their family even when I maybe do not deserve it.

6. A job I love. Who can really say that they love their job anymore? Does it have it challenges? Yes. Is every single day rewarding? Not always. Do I always feel that I'm doing what I've been called to do? Absolutely. Those 18 precious little hearts depend on me to be their teacher and family during the school day and I cherish and love all the moments I have with them.

7. Church family. I worship and practice my faith with the sweetest group of people. So thankful for each and every person. I love that Christ encouraged us to live out our faith surrounded with other believers and the support that I find there is so wonderful.

8. Friends. I cannot even begin to list the legions of wonderful, caring, funny, supportive and encouraging friends I have! I have work friends, friends from my youth group days, friends older and younger than me. Each person has touched my life in ways that they will never know! I need to be better about showing my appreciation for all you wonderful people. I only hope I'm as good of a friend back! I was surprised with a birthday breakfast from my school family and it was so nice to enjoy time in their company. (Yes...that's a candle in my omelet.)

9. My home. It's cozy, comfortable and it's all mine! Enough said.

10. Music. Some days I actually thing about how devastating it would be to be deaf. I could not imagine not being able to hear music. So thankful for the many songs and moments that music has lifted my spirits, and created joy and memories for me.

11, Laughter (this needs no explanation). Thank you to all the funny people in my life. Ya'll are the best.

12. Kids. I am a kid person. If there is a room full of adults and only 1 kid...you can guess who I'd be hanging out with. You should try it sometime..the conversations are riveting! Ha! I've been blessed to babysit, teach and be related to some pretty awesome children.

13. Coffee. With Sweet Cream creamer please.

14. Cooking. I like to cook but also greatly enjoy others cooking too!

15. Shopping. If you know me in real life...you know this is a favorite past time. Much to my husbands dismay. Little known fact..I also really love GROCERY shopping. It's relaxing to me.

16. Health. I'm thankful to be healthy. It's a blessing indeed.

17. Sweets (specifically Skittles, Starbursts, Chocolate truffles...the list could go on and on...)

18. A beautiful fall day.

19. Laying on a beach and doing nothing but tanning and reading a book. Ahhhh....

20. Reading books, magazines...anything really.

21. Disney World

22. Traveling. It's been a while since I've taken a big trip..dreaming of Europe during the Christmas season. Maybe someday.

23. HGTV (what would I do without Fixer Upper and the Gaines???)

24. Flowers. Josh gave me this pretty bouquet yesterday. Something about fresh flowers just makes me smile. Especially peonies. I can't wait to buy a bunch in the spring.

25. Farmer's Market. Random, I know.

26 & 27. Christmas and Thanksgiving. My favorite holidays!

28. First snowfall of the year

29. Choir. I've always loved singing in choirs- community, school and church.

30. Sparkly earrings.

31. Snow days. I have had my fill of those for a while. Josh and I did enjoy sleeping in though!

32. A new day each morning. Simple but still something that I don't take for granted.

If you made it through the LONGEST post ever...thank you for all your love, prayers and support that you've shown me in my 32 years. I'm so thankful!
